Welcome to December!
‘Tis the season of beautiful light in dark places. And that is what Crowns is here for—shining bright in the black and using our little corner of the creative world to contribute. If you don’t already know, profits from this anthology are going to fight human trafficking and it’s something that’s made this whole book launch feel really valuable and different from other book marketing I’ve done before.1 I am so proud of the talented people who contributed to the anthology and for just how beautiful the book itself is. I hope it blesses those who hold and read it.2
And as part of the Twelve Days of Christmas with Quill & Flame Publishers, go and grab a great deal—I’ve got both ebooks of HEARTS and WISHES on sale for $0.99! Other Q&F books are on sale too, so make sure to check out their Instagram or Substack for all the details!
As a thank you to all of you for being here and reading my overwordy sentences and tome-ish emails, here is the link to my exclusive, hidden Wishes playlist! Thank you for being here and I hope next year to bring more swoon, more fun music recommendations, and more great books!
Also, one final new anthology notice, lol! My publisher released an adorable Nutcracker-themed anthology called Magic and Mistletoe and while my contribution is the opening poem and it really quite small, it’s…very me. It’s all dim and cold and aching for a savior and frost-falling and it’s just poetic and I love it.
I pray you have a blessed season,
Happy Christmas,
Brittany
P.S.: What I’ve been watching and reading and listening to! K-Drama? W. Oh it was so good, so meta about s t o r y. Link…what else…LOKI OH LOKI it’s SO GOOD. Songs: The First Noel arranged3 by Dan Forrest—sad swoon.4 Skye Boat Song by Luke Faulkner, which I believe is my LIFE THEME SONG NOW THANK YOU. Good Plans / Doxology by Red Rocks Worship, on repeat. I want to erase sadness by Jung se rin (from the K-Drama W) and for context, see footnote number four. That might explain why I love every single soundtrack song by Janet Suhh (It’s Okay Not to be Okay anyone??!!) and MeloMance (is that melo + romance, why yes it is) and oh—look, they’re both on the soundtrack for Link and I mean, talk about t.e.a.r.s Oh my word I love sad songs and yes, that sadness song is on my next WIP playlist, which I’ll get to after finishing my fairytales!5 Reading…The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer, Paul by N.T. Wright. I read a Sanderson! Tress of the Emerald Sea was fantastic! And I’m still in awe of W.R. Gringell’s The City Between series. Genius.

Not only were we a number one new release… THE EBOOK WAS #1 ON THE TEEN & YOUNG ADULT FAIRY TALE & FOLKLORE ANTHOLOGIES (EBOOKS) BEST SELLER LIST. Ahem. Our anthology is a best-selling anthology!
It would also make a LOVELY Christmas gift. All the links here!
If you didn’t know, I’m a huge choral music fan and I’m actually in a choir and literally STUDIED choral music in a performing arts high school. We are none of us surprised by nerdiness. And yes, I did indeed take my lunch in the band room while reading a book and prepping for Speech & Debate Club.
Oh my word sad swoon is literally my brand. Maybe it SHOULD be my brand…email me if you think it works!
I can’t say any more about future works in progress right now, because they only exist somewhere in my head at the moment…
