Welcome to Thanksgiving,
‘Tis the season for Thanksgiving weekend and also, unseasonably sunny days in our temperate rainforest/Twilight films locations/Pacific Northwest/Fraser Valley area. I’m grateful for my family, especially my husband and sweet children, and for small pumpkins and big family meals and laughter in a church service and stolen moments to read.
There are so many wonderful things in author news—hold onto your hats, it’s about to get windy1 with clickable links below and updates on all the writing things…

Upcoming books:
I am in two anthologies this season. Masquerade released last month, and you can find information about it here. And in December, there will be another anthology featuring my flash fiction piece, and that anthology will have a title reveal on October 15th…but you’re hearing it here first (keep it secret, keep it safe): it’s called Equinox & Solstice! How gorgeous! My story Seasons is a sweet, sad, soft little interlude between some amazing short stories! More information coming later this fall!
In terms of writing, Hearts (releasing June 6, 2023) is in final proof edits (checking for typos before formatting) and I only have three scenes3 left in Mirrors. Takes a breath. Then…I have plans to fast draft another seasonal, #heartbooks novella in November and December. If you want to join me, email me and I’ll suit you up with my nerd-story/scene lists and fast-drafting checklist. Can you tell how excited I am about this? Writing is my favorite, and I’m grateful I get to do it everyday.
Well, I do believe that’s all.
Happy Thanksgiving, I am very thankful for you!
With gratitude,
Brittany
P.S.: I’ve been reading, possible a little too much. But fun things! A Superhero For Christmas by H.L. Burke (pre-order here) was literally what it said on the box: Marvel meets Hallmark Christmas. So fun. Also, the Heartmaker Trilogy by V. Romas Burton—read this if you want a good Christian allegory. Music? The About Time album by Florian Christl, Fireworks and Lost and Found by Hans Zimmer from the Wonder Woman 1984 Soundtrack, and In Love by Hans Zimmer from the Sketches from the Soundtrack album version. Honesty, by Bethel Music. Sound Mind by (Studio Version) by Bryan & Katie Torwalt. And this time of year my favorite song is Good Shepherd by UPPERROOM & Brett Bell. And shows…Rings of Power, people. Just because it’s fun to watch such an epic story with such beautiful costumes.
P.P.S: Here is a link to the prologue of my latest (very secret, very exciting) romantic suspense. I started writing it last year and later this month I’ll be doing final tweaks before sending it off to my agent. It’s a poignant romance, and a heart-pounding thriller, wrapped in a lush European setting and told in a unique, alternating split-time (past/present) format. I basically wrote this story to challenge myself4 and finish every chapter as cliff-hanger-like as possible.5 If you read it, do tell me what you think!
Endorsements for Wishes
“Charming and inventive, Wishes offers a romance that tiptoes between reality and fairytale. A smart, heartfelt retelling perfect for fans of Kiera Cass and Melanie Dickerson!” – CAROLINE GEORGE, author of Dearest Josephine
“Fans of Nadine Brandes, CJ Redwine and Sara Ella need look no further than Brittany Eden for their next ultimately poetic and utterly immersive read. True magic! Eden writes with one of the most naturally talented voices I have read in years!” – RACHEL MCMILLAN, author of The Mozart Code and The Castle Keepers
“Enchanting and unique, Eden’s prose in Wishes is a paintbrush, creating a masterpiece depicting grief and sorrow and how love can overcome them in time. By carefully combining two beloved fairytales—Cinderella and Pinocchio—Eden has written a beautiful novella that will capture the hearts of readers, young and old.” – V. ROMAS BURTON, author of the Heartmaker Trilogy
“Wishes is a beautiful glimpse into the fairytale world Eden is creating with her Heartbooks series. It is filled with such poetic prose and wonderful little hints of the familiar stories from which it drew inspiration. I believe fans of The Selection Series and all things Cinderella will find this an absolutely lovely story of romance, royal intrigue, and overcoming loss.” – TABITHA CAPLINGER, author of The Wolf Queen
“Wishes—this book had my heart from beginning to end. The writing as beautiful as poetry and as stirring as a timeless classic, I couldn’t not fall in love with this beautifully moving story. I adored this book and absolutely cannot wait for future releases by the author. It’s five glowing stars from me.” – CAITLIN MILLER, author of The Memories We Painted

THREE
To challenge myself in style, to write a thriller and also to write in two tenses, and also to write the split time to work on pacing and story structure. But mostly, I wanted to write a book that suited this piece of music: Mafia
I do think I succeeded…
